CBT: Computer Based Training

Computer Based Training (CBT) allows time challenged professionals to work at their own place and is an effective way to gain the necessary knowledge without sacrificing taking time off work. For many it is the ideal solution to their training needs.

Our development team produces high quality interactive multimedia computer based training (CBT) on CD ROMs for government agencies and contractors. Interactive computer based training as opposed to traditional training methods provides the following proven benefits and advantages.

CBT is a type of education in which the people learns by executing special training programs on a computer. CBT is especially effective for training people to use computer applications because the CBT program can be integrated with the applications so that the learners can practice using the application as they learn.

Computer Based Training that is written and produced by RIM, will help you to communicate your training objectives and material in a clear, concise and engaging manner. Your trainees can learn interactively, at their own place and in any location that has access to the Learning Management System.

WBT: Web-Based Training

Web Based Training (sometimes called e-learning) is anywhere, any-time instruction delivered over the Internet to browser-equipped learners. There are two primary models of Web-based instruction: synchronous (instructor-facilitated) and asynchronous (self-directed, self-paced). Instruction can be delivered by a combination of static methods (learning portals, hyperlinked pages, screen cam tutorials, streaming audio/video, and live Web broadcasts) and interactive methods (threaded discussions, chats, and desk-top video conferencing).

Web Based Training (WBT) refers to training that can be delivered anytime in any part of the globe to someone with Internet access. This has grown into something with immense possibilities, and comprises a world of skill improvement, enhancement of learning and understanding, and changing attitudes and behaviours in a period of time. WBT offers training in three distinct modes: synchronously or in real time, asynchronously or not in real time or a combination of both. Besides these, there are many technologies and combinations of technologies that can also serve to deliver WBT courses.

Advantages of WBT:

  • Training to users is very easily delivered
  • WBTs can be either in the form of individual or group training
  • Multi-platform capabilities are possible, such as Windows, Mac, UNIX, PDA, phone, among others
  • Content can be easily updated
  • Requires minimal technical support
  • Access can be controlled
